Youth MinistryAt AWC, we beleive that young people are just as important as any other age in the church; they are at a critical point in thier lives. It is in these trying times that teens require careful guidance in the decisions that they are making and going to make in the future. The pressures that modren day youth deal with are rather great, especially when the heavy influence of negative and ungodly media is factored in. It is during these times that a stable, firm, and loving support is what is needed. While the youth leaders at AWC do thier best to supply that, the real purpose is to further strengthen the beleifs that are taught at home. Consider the youth ministry of AWC to be a line of support for parents as well as teenagers. The youth group ages are: 12 years - 18 years At 18 years of age the teenager then joins the College and Career group rather than the youth group. ServicesWednesday Night 7:30 PM Ths is a special bible study targeted and geared for teenagers. There is a short worship service followed by a lesson. There is also a time for questions and answers where the students are invited to discuss either the topic of the study or any other issue they would like to discuss. Sunday Youth Service 10:00 AM The 4th Sunday of every month is the Youth Service. This is an entire church service geared towards young people with a focus on evangelistic preaching and contemporary worship songs. Youth members are encouraged to participate in the service through singing, playing, or being involved in a skit. |
